At LICMU Sustainability, all our inbound programs are committed to helping to contributing to a more greener and sustainable world by educating the next generation of young leaders and change makers. Working hand in hand with our international partners we aim to dedicate our sustainability abroad programs by promoting and embracing innovative solutions and fostering environmental stewardship. Our programs aim to connect our students with various stakeholders across the breadth of work and engage with them through meaningful dialogue and discussions.
Our journey started during the COVID-19 lockdown when we noticed there was a gap in the education market for providing meaningful experiential learning projects which match our students with local grassroot challenges and intiatives taking place under Chiang Mai University's SDGs work. Working with specific faculty members, we aim to be a leading force in the sustainability sector, by empowering students to make a meaningful difference. Our team consists of passionate professionals with diverse backgrounds, all united with a shared goal - to 'inspire and guide students and learners toward a sustainable future'.
About the Logo
Although cute, the 'Melting Bear' by LICMU Sustainability captures the urgency of climate change with a poignant visual of a polar bear melting like 'ice cream', symbolizing the profound impact of the rising global temperatures on our planet's delicate ecosystems, which in turn result in rising sea levels which have a knock-on effect on coastal erosions. This image tries to capture the challenges which our planet faces.
